Gateway Pines 2 is a new 55 and older community located at 1022 W Stanfill Street in Hahira, Georgia. This project is a mix of one and two bedroom apartments with a total of 56 apartments on site. The developer for Gateway Pines 2 was Investors Management Company of Valdosta, Georgia.
Construction began on the project in November 2012, and the projected completion was November, 2013.
The apartments have an open and inviting floor plan with a spacious living room and kitchen area. The worst case HERS (Home Energy Rating System) score for the Gateway Pines 2 Apartments was 68. That would mean that the worst case apartments' electricity would cost around 30-35% less than a similar apartment that was not built with energy efficiency in mind. Some of the reasons include:
High efficiency heat pumps and water heaters
Very efficient windows
ENERGY STAR® appliances and lighting fixtures
Water conserving water fixtures
Quality insulation and draft control
Besides beautiful apartments, Gateway Pines 2 has state of the art community center with some of the following amenities:
Meeting and entertainment area
A business center with computers and high speed internet
A fitness center
Gateway Pines 2 scored 228 points in the EarthCraft Multifamily New Construction Program. Emphasis was placed on the "Energy Efficient Building" category (scoring the maximum of 90 points) Also, a strong emphasis was also placed on resource efficiency, indoor air quality, and indoor water conservation.

Synergy’s only role at Gateway Pines 2 was to provide EarthCraft Technical advisory, inspection, and testing services. We had no other role in this project.
